Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently
Asked Questions

  • Our organisation culture is open and flat. We believe all employees are equal and can add value to our organisation through their ideas for improvement. Since our organisation structure is flat, every employee should be able to communicate with anyone regardless of title or position.

Promotions are based on performance, not tenure. All employees have the opportunity to get promoted quickly if they are high performers.

  • Work-life balance can be a subjective term that means something different to everyone.

Simply put, at KEYENCE, each employee is fully responsible for their work and their results. Depending on the individual and your position, you may choose to work longer than your scheduled hours to accomplish a task. Some departments have busier seasons during certain times of year or certain days of the month that require more tasks to be completed than others.

At the same time, KEYENCE encourages a clear separation between work and personal life. We do not expect our employees to work on evenings and weekends. We even provide a separate laptop and mobile phone that is strictly for business use so that employees can fully disconnect once they are finished with their work.

  • There is more information on our career path listed here.

All employees will have a formal evaluation with their manager every six months to discuss progress to date and your future at KEYENCE. Our managers are committed to frequent and open communication with their teams.

Management opportunities can happen as early as 3 years after joining KEYENCE. We provide internal manager development programs to help our employees transition from an employee into a management position.

  • If you are unsure about the status of your application or require more feedback, you can reach out to us directly via recruitment@keyence.eu. One of our recruitment team members will be happy to support with questions or enquiries.

  • In most cases, you will have the opportunity to meet hiring managers as well as our General Manager through our recruitment process.

Our interview process is currently a hybrid between an introduction video call and the opportunity to meet in person in the final stages of the interview process.

We want our interview process to expose you to all the right people to determine if you are a good fit for the position and company as well as giving you a chance to ask questions and determine if this is the company you want to work for.

  • All positions at KEYENCE are compensated with a base salary and quarterly bonus which is based on your individual and company performance.

We incentivise individual contribution and therefore each employee has the ability to increase their bonus if they are outperforming their peers. Your base salary is paid to you monthly and your bonus is paid out on a quarterly basis. In addition to your base and bonus pay, we do reimburse you for any business expenses occurred during business travel.

In general, KEYENCE has market-leading compensation and we are able to offer this to our employees due to our outstanding business results. Our operating profit of over 50% is a testament to our success as an organisation. On top of this, we have high expectations for our employees and can run our business more efficiently which means we can pay each employee more.

  • At KEYENCE we provide classroom and on-the-job training programs and we have a strict promote from within development policy.

All employees at KEYENCE work their way up through our organisation. This ensures that your manager has done your job and is more than qualified to provide coaching and advice for the unique challenges you may come across in your role.

  • At KEYENCE, we hire individuals from all degree disciplines.

Due to our extensive training program, we can train any new hire on our technical products regardless of their degree background. For new hires who come to KEYENCE with a technical background, the product knowledge comes more easily. For those who come from a business or other background, the sales aspect comes more easily. Therefore, we provide both technical product knowledge and sales skill training during the classroom and an on-the-job mentorship program.

Even though we screen the ability to learn technical concepts in our recruitment process, having a technical background is not a requirement. We have many new hires that do not have a technical background and they are high-performers in our company.

  • KEYENCE sales employees spend two days in one of our sales offices and three days in the field visiting their customers.

Office days provide the opportunity for you to call customers to schedule your appointments for the upcoming week, follow up on projects, share information with territory partners or members from your product line, and a chance for additional training and development.

During your field days you are physically taking your "demo unit" (the product that you sell) to your customers' facilities and showing them how our product can be effective in their process. This is our business to business, consultative sales approach that allows us to help solve customers’ problems and improve their business operations!
